Sönke Meinen regularly teaches workshops and masterclasses on various topics related to the guitar, many of them at festivals or at music academies. These workshops vary in length (from 2 hours to a whole week) and in their topic of focus. However, the aim is always to address all players regardless of their playing level and to create a place where people not only learn during the workshop, but also exchange ideas with each other and gain inspiration for their musical future ahead.

Sönke Meinen has led workshops and masterclasses in Australia, China, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Scotland, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, and the Czech Republic, for example for the Ullapool Guitar Festival, the Xiamen Music Season, the Mikulov Guitar Festival, the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, and the Dresden University of Music, where he also taught for several years.
